Indigenous labour market research is a core expertise of  Fleming College’s newly-established Business Intelligence and Research Services (BIRS).  We are committed to providing Indigenous labour market research services that will advance the strategic commitments set out by Fleming’s 2019-2024 Strategic Plan.

We will advance the body of knowledge in Indigenous labour market research across the College and the communities we serve.  We will provide cutting-edge research services that supports the diverse information needs of stakeholders.

Key Activities 

  • Indigenous Labour Market Research – we research and test new methods to capture Indigenous labour market intelligence (LMI), leveraging in-house technologies to disseminate information based on the needs of end users. 
  • New Program Development (NPD) – we provide research to support new program development, including Indigenous Perspective Designation (IPD), and Indigenous-focused micro-credentials.
  • Community Engagement – We represent Fleming College on various local, regional and provincial workforce and labour market committees ensuring that Fleming College remains involved in and supportive of new and existing workforce and labour market initiatives across the communities we serve.
